| Well, it's been a while since I've written, and so much has happened. So far, no snow. Crazy. | | |
| Do you ever feel like you just need to get away from your life? Just to step off the track for a second because you can't breathe anymore? Side cramps, sprained ankle, shoe untied, sweat stinging your eyes, your heart throbbing in your ears. It's cold and you're nose is bleeding... So you hobble off the track to the sidelines and watch others run by, full speed. Now you just need water, and bad. Looking up from your swollen ankle, you heave a sigh of relief. There's Coach with athletic tape for your ankel, a towel for your sweat and blood, and water. Helping you sit down, He dries you off, cleans up your face, hands you the water, and starts to tape up your ankle. But you're shaking too badly and can't drink without spilling, so he lifts the waterbottle to your lips. Helping you to your feet Coach says you can't stop, so pace. As you walk slowly in circles He tells you how well you've been running, and not to feel bad because you had to stop for the moment. Keep pacing or you'll never be able to get back in the race. Keep your head up and your eyes fixed on the prize. Keep your mind on your goal. And just keep running. You realize it's like He's running with you. You couldn't do it without Him. A couple more circles, and you think you can get back in. Coach says He's going to be cheering you on. With a quick hug He sends you jogging back up to the track. You're running again. | | |
| Well, back in Germany things are looking up. We've just finished the first official week of life here in the Black Forest. Between getting my classes all set up, meetings for Student Council and Worship Band, meeting new people, adjusting to dorm life again, and, of course, having loads of fun, I have been quite busy.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to come to this awesome school. As cheesy as it sounds, I really am. The Lord has blessed me with incredible experiences already, and I'm so excited to see what he will bring this year. Today was awesome. I left the dorm at 7:15 and just got back now at 21:00. Whew. A long day of Chaple Band practice, and shortened periods, and chaple, and setting up for the Ice Cream Social that took place after school. Congratulations to everyone who made it for the musical!! Today was special. I really felt the presence of the Lord in me and with me today. Those days are so encouraging. It's also encouraging on the days when it feels like he's not with me at all, to know that he really is and is never going to leave me. Wow. That's an incredible promise. To soak up that reality would take a sponge bigger than can ever exist.
Off to a wonderful start already, I still can't believe that I'm in my senior year of highschool already. Yikes. It really is amazing, and I just hope that our class can unite and set the tone of the year in the right way. I'm looking forward to making lots of new friendships with the new students and all of our wonderful underclassmen! Woohoo!
Well, Friday night at the dorm is dance party (at least tonight). Tomorrow we're all headed to Carrefour to do some shopping for school supplies and other goodies! Yeah. So, we'll be up getting our gratises done so we can head out. Today was a gorgeous day. Shorts weather, definitely. I am so glad that it's kinda like summer again. After several days of constant rain and cold, it was nice to see the sun. Supposedly you could see Switzerland, and maybe even to Italy (or so the rumor has it!). So, it was nice today.
Well, my peeps, thanks so much for all your encouragement and your prayers. They are much appreciated! Keep strong, and keep the faith. I love you all.
